Construction of the main frame of the sd-sized BJD wheelchair. As usual when sculpting, there’s a lot of sanding & fine-tuning involved. I chose model building aluminium pipes with thin walls for easy sawing and filing, and to ensure the final, cast version would look sufficiently metal-like in surface texture. Unfortunately this also meant they couldn’t make smooth, sharp turns very well (not without special equipment at least, which I didn’t have). So I made those out of epoxy clay instead.
Some parts of the final version will remain metal, because they need to be hollow and resin walls would be too flimsy: this because the handles on the back and the foot rest will have adjustable sliding mechanisms.Bjd Wheelchair Bjd Props Miniature Wheelchair Doll Wheelchair Wheelchair Frame Ball Jointed Dolls Propmaking WIP Workshop Shots Puppit Productions Aluminium Pipes Construction Mechanics
